SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Circus Vargas made its annual stop at the Madonna Inn this past month, presenting its new show, Hollywood Dreams, a tribute to Tinseltown’s Golden Age—when cinema hit its peak in the mid-1900s with legendary movie stars and iconic film productions.

The two-hour, kid-friendly performance dazzled the audience with jaw-dropping acrobatic feats, glamorous dance numbers and interactive segments that kept crowds cheering from start to finish.

From aerial stunts to juggling and high-wire acts, the performers left the audience in awe. The first act, performed by Vlastia, was a hula hoop extravaganza. She began with small hoops on each arm and a large one around her waist, gradually adding more while keeping them all in motion. By the end of her act, she had more than 20 hula hoops spinning across her body.

Aerialist Liina followed, showcasing impressive upper body strength as she twirled and flipped using a single rope. Her technique and balance captivated the crowd as she appeared to spin endlessly above the center ring.

Though most acts ran smoothly, a few had minor hiccups. The Faltyny Family juggling act, which featured five performers tossing rings in synchronized patterns, experienced a few missed catches. However, the performers quickly regained rhythm and carried on without missing a beat.

The Meza Troupe attempted to ride a bicycle across a high wire but cut the act short due to structural issues with the wire setup. Despite the shortened performance, their daring display still received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

One of the most heart-pounding acts of the night was The Globe of Death, in which four motorcyclists sped around inside a steel sphere in perfect synchronicity. With the lights dimmed and only the glow from the motorcycles’ wheels, the performers zipped past each other at lightning speed. The crowd leapt to its feet in applause once the riders came to a stop.

Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson and the entire Circus Vargas cast closed the show with a high-energy dance finale. Families and children left the blue-striped tent smiling and chatting excitedly about their favorite acts.

Circus Vargas is set to return to the Central Coast in June 2026. For future show dates and ticket information, visit www.circusvargas.com or check the Madonna Inn’s website.

It’s a show you won’t want to miss.
