Father's Day Gift Ideas Your Dad Will Love

Dads don’t usually go out to get massages, manicures, or a new hairstyle, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get to be spoiled with gifts like our moms do on Mother’s Day. While you know your dad best, we came up with a few gift ideas for you to surprise your dad with on their favorite day.

1. Decked-out bar cart

Bar carts are the perfect gift for your dad because they’re stylish and add extra space to any room. Fill the bar cart with his favorite snacks and drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). You can create a fun theme with it to make it more interesting. Use his favorite TV show, movie, or musician as inspiration for your bar cart theme. 

2. Personalized memento

If there’s anything that dads love, it’s a good personalized memento. They’re the first ones to buy souvenirs on trips to hold onto the memories. You can add to their collection of random things they don’t need by getting them a personalized item like a hat, t-shirt, or grilling apron with an engraving of their favorite quote, sports team, or inside joke. Additionally,  engraving the date on your gift will remind him exactly what year he got it.  

3. Invest in his hobbies

The easiest gift you can give your dad is buying him things that will make his hobbies flourish. Whether he’s running low on materials or has been wanting a new item, you can easily buy him something that he already likes. 

4. Get him into a new hobby 

If your dad doesn’t have a lot of downtime for hobbies, then you can get him into something that takes little time and effort. Brain-teasing games like Sudoku, crossword puzzles, and word searches can be completed in less than 30 minutes. You can buy him a couple of books to get him started. Most of these games can be downloaded to a phone, but having a physical copy is a great way to reduce his screen time. Or, if he doesn’t know what to get into and has time on his hands, then you can get him a starter kit for any activity, such as painting, fishing, or grilling. Buy a couple of canvases, paintbrushes, and paint tubes to get his painting started. 

5. Go simple with a gift card

If you tend to wait until the last minute to buy gifts, then gift cards are quick and easy. Pick a store your dad loves so he can pick something out he’s been wanting for a while, or pick a different store to get him into something new. Pair the gift card with some of his favorite snacks and drinks for him to enjoy on Father’s Day. Typical dad snacks include chips, peanuts, trail mix, and beef jerky. Unless your dad is a sweet-tooth person, savory is the way to go. However, some sweet treats your dad should try are dark chocolate graham cookies from Trader Joe's, danishes from Gina’s Piece of Cake, and conchas from La Tapatia Bakery.
